Beauty Insurance FAQs

We have two main types of beauty and hair policies. Our standard policy covers traditional non-medical beauty and hair treatments and you can choose to include: – Indemnity for public liability up to £5,000,000 – Stock, equipment and cash cover up to £5,000 (cash cover up to £500) on an all risks basis including accidental damage and theft. For anything else, we can build a bespoke beauty cover. This includes:

  1. A greater range of more extensive treatments such as needlework and chemical peels
  2. Salon & Contents Cover
  3. Employers liability
  4. Medical professional indemnity from £500k to £10m+
  5. Legal protection + many more.

Your excess depends on the type of treatments you need cover for. If you are performing standard beauty treatments ( for example nail extensions or massage), you are responsible for the first £100 of a claim. Alternatively, if you need cover for advanced treatments, such as Botox, your excess will depend on which treatments you perform and you will have to speak to an agent to find our your particular excess.

We can insure both non-medics & medics for needlework including botox and dermal fillers. For non-medics we require NVQ Level 3 in beauty therapy or Anatomy & Physiology Level 3. We also require 6 months’ experience in medical needling i.e. micro-needling, SPMU and microblading.

We have two main types of beauty policy. We have standard cover for freelance and mobile beauticians practising non-Invasive treatments. This covers you working from home, going out to clients’ homes and renting a chair within a salon. We have advanced bespoke cover for individuals performing cosmetic and aesthetic treatments including more extensive treatments such as needlework and chemical peels, beauty or hair salons, as well as employee cover. Our advance cover can be built to include all the locations you work from. Just speak to an advisor to find out more.

Unfortunately, purchasing a policy outside the UK is not possible. Our policies are intended for use by UK domiciled individuals and comply with appropriate UK legislation and regulation.

Most insurers within the UK have now applied exclusions within their insurance effectively ruling out cover for COVID 19. Pandemic cover can be sourced from specialist insurers.

For treatments performed on under 18’s a parent must be present throughout the treatment and have signed a content form before the treatment starts. Age limits can vary with insurers, so if you’re in doubt, please contact us.

Our policies can cover teaching, providing you have a teacher’s qualification in the treatment you are teaching and the relevant experience. Teaching cover can be added to any of our policies. Speak to us and we can get it added for you.
