What Is Community Group Insurance?
Community Group Insurance provides protection for the many thousands of not-for-profit clubs, support groups or projects working locally for the benefit of the local population. As well as core public liability insurance, community groups may require employers’ liability for any direct employees and volunteers as well as protection for any contents or equipment for which it may be responsible.
Do I Need Community Group Insurance?
Almost all community based groups will operate from a hall or other premises, with this in mind, the majority of clubs and groups will have a need to purchase public liability insurance. Public liability provides indemnity from injury or damage to property from a member of the public. Where you are operating from third party premises, for example a village hall owned by the local authority, it is likely that you will be asked to provide proof of liability cover before you can use the facility. Community Group policies will also extend to provide cover for fundraising events and multiple locations as required.
