Eyelash Technician Public Liability Insurance

Public liability insurance is as important as treatment risk coverage in your role as an eyelash technician. The purpose of it is to protect you if a client or member of the public should suffer an injury caused by you, but not directly related to any lash or other beauty treatments, or because of your work itself.

Public liability insurance for beauty professionals provides indemnity for compensation claims and expenses from members of the public as a result of the actions of you or your business. For example, a client falls from your beauty table and breaks their arm.

In addition to liability protection, you can also include insurance cover for your beauty equipment as well as any stock or materials.

Treatment risk cover provides protection against compensation claims for injury or illness as a result of a treatment you have applied for.

As a trained technician, you have a duty of care to provide safe treatment to your clients. However, accidents can happen, which is why treatment risk is essential for beauty professionals such as eyelash technicians.

Our Mobile/Self-Employed Eyelash Technicians can be tailored to suit your needs and business operations. We understand that no two businesses are the same, which also applies to your insurance policies. This unique policy allows you to pay for just the cover you need.

We can add specialist cover for your business equipment, any stock or product you hold and product’s liability. If you are a mobile therapist and you drive your own vehicle to travel to your clients, you will need to hold valid car insurance by law too.

What qualifications you need for beauty insurance will depend on which treatments you perform, and we have different levels of coverage to reflect this.

For standard treatments, you need to be suitably qualified and/or experienced in the treatment you will carry out to meet the beauty insurance acceptance criteria.

For more complex treatments, such as Plasma Pen or Hyapen, completion of a UK-accredited training course is usually required.

If you have a question about whether we accept your qualification, please speak to us, as we may still be able to provide cover on a bespoke policy.

Our insurers can also accept some online training courses and are generally happy to accept online UK-accredited courses for the following treatments:

– Manicuring (including nail extensions and nail art) or pedicuring.
– Application of cosmetics, spray tans, Indian head massage or aromatherapy (other than aromatherapy to pregnant women), application of body jewels
– Alternative therapies (& Reiki, spiritual healing, readings etc.)
– Eyelash treatments, including tinting, shaping, threading, extensions
– Life Coaching and Counselling
– Hopi Ear Candling

Other online courses may also be acceptable depending on your other qualifications and experience. One of our expert beauty therapist insurance teams will be happy to help you craft the right policy for your needs.

Yes, our insurance can cover teaching, providing you have a teacher’s qualification in the treatment you are teaching. Teaching cover can be added to any of our policies. Speak to us, and we can get it added for you.
