Treatment Cover

All our beauty policies come with treatment risk as standard; you are able to customise these treatments to include only the ones you perform.

We have two main types of treatment risk:
1. Low risk such as nails, make-up application or waxing etc.
2. High risk such as chemical peels, electrolysis or microdermabrasion etc.

Our lower-risk policy is available online. You can receive an instant quote and buy this cover online, for a full list of treatments covered in our online mobile beauty policy see below.

Advanced Treatment Risk Cover

Alternatively, if you require beautician insurance for treatments such as chemical peels, semi-permanent make-up or laser treatments you’ll require a higher level of treatment risk cover.

Due to the nature of these treatments, one of our expert brokers can help you choose the right policy for you. For a quote for beautician cover including advanced treatment risk, get in touch today. For a full list of advanced treatments click here.

Beauty Public Liability Insurance

Beauty public liability insurance is as important as treatments risk cover. The purpose of it is to protect you if a client or member of the public should suffer an injury caused by you, but not directly related to any beauty treatments or because of your work.

Instead, beauty public liability insurance will cover you for example if you leave a make-up box on the floor and someone trips over it and is injured.

Accidental damage to a client’s property is also covered, for example, if you scratch a car while getting your beauty trolly up their drive away. This type of insurance is essential and can be added to any of our beauty policies.

Make-Up Artist Insurance for mobile and freelance therapists

Make-up artist insurance is a specialist cover protecting you and your livelihood. We understand that as a make-up artist you have different risks to regular beauty treatments.

As makeup artists, you have the extra emphasis on hygiene especially with the use of more non-single use products such as mascaras, foundations, or brushes. Without this attention on cleanliness it could be a reason a client breaks out in spots, suffers a reaction or it could even result in the passing of an infectious disease, resulting in a compensation claim.

However, as our panel of insurers are beauty industry specialists, they have created unique make-up artist insurance to include, treatment risk, public liability, product liability and finical loss as standard. Our Make-up artist insurance can be quoted and bought online. We have a quick and simple form to get you covered instantly.

Mobile Aesthetics Cover

We also provide aesthetic treatments cover. We can arrange this alongside other beauty treatments you perform, or we can provide cover for freelance or mobile aesthetic practitioners.

If you require more information on our aesthetic cover or want a full list of treatments, please see our aesthetics insurance page or call today to speak to an expert advisor.

Frequently Asked Mobile Beauty Insurance Questions

We have prepared a list of the questions we are regularly asked by Customers before and after buying a policy.

If you need further help we are always available.

Freelance beauty insurance provides a simple yet effective solution for self-employed beauticians. Based on core public liability insurance, it also includes cover against claims for treatment risk as standard.
Public liability insurance for beauty professionals provides indemnity for compensation claims and expenses from members of the public as a result of the actions of you or your business. For example, a client falls from your beauty table and breaks their arm.
In addition to liability protection, you can also include insurance cover for your beauty equipment as well as any stock or materials.

Beauty treatment risk cover provides protection against compensation claims for injury or illness as a result of a treatment you have applied.
As a trained beautician you have a duty of care to provide safe treatment to your clients. However, accidents can happen, which is why treatment risk is essential for beauty professionals.

Our mobile beauty insurance can be tailed to suit your individual needs and business operations. We understand that no two businesses are the same, and that goes for your insurance policies too. This unique policy allows you to pay for just the cover you need.
We can add specialist cover for your business equipment, any stock or product you hold and product’s liability. If you are a mobile therapist and you drive your own vehicle to travel to your clients, you will need to hold valid car insurance by law too.

What qualifications you need for beauty insurance will depend on which treatments you perform, and we have different levels of cover to reflect this.
For standard treatments, you simply need to be suitably qualified and/or experienced in the treatment you will carry out to meet the beauty insurance acceptance criteria.
For more complex treatments, such as Plasma Pen or Hyapen, completion of a UK-accredited training course is usually required.
If you have a question about whether we accept your qualification, please speak to us, as we may still be able to provide cover on a bespoke policy.

Our insurers can also accept some online training courses and are generally happy to accept online UK-accredited courses for the following treatments:
– Manicuring (including nail extensions and nail art) or pedicuring.
– Application of cosmetics, spray tans, Indian head massage or aromatherapy (other than aromatherapy to pregnant women), application of body jewels.
– Alternative therapies (& Reiki, spiritual healing, readings etc.).
– Eyelash treatments, including tinting, shaping, threading, and extensions.
– Life Coaching and Counselling.
– Hopi Ear Candling.
Other online courses may also be acceptable depending on your other qualifications and experience. One of our expert beauty therapist insurance team will be happy to help you craft the right policy for your needs.

Yes, our beautician insurance can cover teaching, providing you have a teacher’s qualification in the treatment you are teaching. Teaching cover can be added to any of our policies. Speak to us, and we can get it added for you.
We also have beauty training school policies for both teaching and training students once they’re qualified. If you’re a training school looking for us to be your insurance partner, get in touch today.

As we operate with a panel of insurers, we are able to tailor cover to the specific treatments you offer, and each insurer will provide a list of acceptable treatments with their quotation. In addition to standard beauty treatments, we also have a specialist scheme which can cater for more complex treatments, such as:
– Semi-Permanent Make-up
– Low Power Laser Therapy for Dermatological and Chiropody treatments only
– Red Veins, Skin Tags, Warts, Milia and Spider Naevi Treatments by various methods
